The Tremezzo Treatment

IN THIS 12,000 SQ. FT. MANSION, NOTHING EXISTS AS IT WAS – AND WE’VE GOT A BEHIND-THE-SCAFFOLDING PEEK JUST FOR YOU.

Ariel view of the Chesapeake Mansion

If you’re like us, you love a good renovation project, and we’ve got our own Tremezzo HGTV over here at Chesapeake Mansion! We spent over a year and half combing through every square foot (all 12,000 of ‘em) with intention and care, making sure every paint choice and every furnishing made this mansion inviting, whimsical, and memorable.

Take a look at these before and after pics! We’re so proud!

It’s very easy for large spaces to feel cold and, dare we say, eerie - especially with a grand staircase and candlestick-like chandelier looming before you as you open the large double doors. We kept so much of the striking bones of this home, and made it softer, warmer, and delightfully unconventional. The turquoise accents, mid-century light fixture, and multi-toned staircase gives this entrance a modern feel. And the fun rug…well it does all the talking for us!

As you ascend the staircase - we wanted to bring our guests a little ‘Alice Through the Lookinglass’ vibe. Though those Lumiere-type chandeliers had to go, we invited the Cheshier cat to come play, with striped wallpaper, a lime-green statement wall, and an upside down (or right side up - however you prefer) chandelier. “Curiouser and Curiouser!”

This room is one of our favorites! Grab a book and settle into this colorful, opulent world. Multiple bold, beautiful curves offset the striking green fireplace accent wall. Notice the windows and fireplace frames and designs have been completely redone – we’re all about the little details to complete the whole.

And what is a mansion without a billiard room? We opted to give the wooden panels a little facelift. Err…facedown? The paint color we chose is called Rock Bottom. Ironic, because when you’re staring down your cue in this striking room, you’ll feel pretty bad*ss. We love the bookshelf, where the rock-like wallpapering makes the color-coordinated books look like they’re growing out of the wall. And what do we think of the bold lime-green fireplace? Does it give you the unabashed confidence to sink the game-winning 8-ball in? Go ahead, live it up!

We’re so proud of how this kitchen came together. We could spend the whole day here - and we hope your family and you will, too! The domed gold lighting fixtures coupled with the playful colors and patterns in this room just feel so fresh and bright! We took inspiration from the stone fireplace and gave the room marble-patterned flooring to add some opulence to this farmhouse-style kitchen. Can you tell we love playing with multiple themes and aesthetics?

Grab your cuppa joe and follow the marble flooring into this sun-soaked seating area - we love a massive open-concept kitchen. We designed this part of the room to feel like an extension of your surroundings - the colors and textures of this room flow right through the windows and into your unparalleled Chesapeake Bay views!

This is just a small sampling of this expansive property. We’re so proud that all the hard work we’ve put in has earned this beautiful estate so many accolades, including the #1 Mansion in the state of Maryland thanks to Conde Naste Traveler.

To experience this beautiful home live and in living color, BOOK YOUR STAY HERE along the majestic Chesapeake.
